Tech – Jargon Buster!
At Buttasideup we often get asked to explain more about the newer technologies we use for our client projects (especially anything to do with VR!).
So below we’ve put together a ‘jargon buster’ to help explain the tech we use daily. We hope some people find this useful 🙂
CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery):

VR (Virtual Reality):
🌌 Step inside your imagination! VR immerses users in a completely digital world, creating an interactive and sensory experience. It’s like a front-row seat to the theatre of your dreams.
AR (Augmented Reality):
🚀 Reality gets an upgrade! AR overlays digital elements onto the real world, enhancing your surroundings. Think Pokémon GO – but for unleashing creativity in the everyday. We utilise this allowing manufacturers to show their customers how their products would look in their homes.
MR (Mixed Reality):
🔮 The best of both worlds! MR merges digital and physical realities, allowing virtual and real objects to interact in real time. It’s the magic trick that blurs the lines between fiction and reality.
Rendering (We spend a lot of time doing this!):
🎨 The art of digital alchemy! Rendering turns raw 3D models into visually stunning images or animations. It’s the magic touch that transforms mathematical data into the breathtaking visuals you see on screen.
